1. Autotrac 4x4 System - The autotrac 4x4 system is available on 1500 and 1500HD models. When in AUTO 4WD, the system automatically transfers power between the rear and front wheels whenever rear-wheel slippage is detected
2. Automatic Locking Rear Differential - The available, GM segment-exclusive automatic locking rear differential allows additional traction at lower speeds on snow, mud and ice. If one of the rear wheels has traction while the other does not, the locking rear axle automatically sends power to the wheel with grip to move the vehicle
3. Passenger Sensing System - The Passenger Sensing System on Silverado Classic 1500 models (except 1500HD) automatically switches the right-front passenger frontal air bag on or off based on the passenger's weight and the type of pressure on the seat
4. Power Takeoff - Power Takeoff (PTO) capability allows 3500 Chassis Cab models equipped with the GM-exclusive, available Allison six-speed automatic transmission to power auxiliary equipment like a dump body or hydraulic motors for generators or tools
